Dana graduated from Bethune-Cookman University in 1994 with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. In 2000, she graduated with her Masters of Public Administration from Troy University. Currently, she has completed all coursework for her Doctoral Degree in Curriculum and Instruction K-12. She is currently in the process of writing her Dissertation. She has been teaching for 12 years. She has taught grades Pre-K, Second, Fourth, and Fifth. She has served in the capacity of Early Intervention Teacher for grades K, 1, and 4. She spent one year in The United Arab Emirates, teaching English to native Arabic speaking children. While teaching in Abu Dhabi, she taught children aged 3-4 years old.
